Most laptops don’t use standard sockets for CPUs. The processors are BGA, which means they’re permanently attached to the motherboard. Even with the right tools and expertise, the only suitable replacements are limited and not much of a change. Beyond hardware fit—like pin count and chipset—the BIOS must also match for proper operation.

I believe you're referring to PGA. BGA stands for ball grid array, which involves soldering.
