Greetings and welcome to the new year! I have a question—right now I’m running an i3 9100f with 8GB RAM, 2666 MHz, GTX 1070, and H310 motherboard. I’m considering upgrading the CPU and adding more RAM. Could you recommend a suitable CPU for my setup? My priority is gaming at 1080p and 144 Hz, and I already have a great monitor ready!

The i3 9100f works well with the GTX 1070. You might want to hold off on upgrading until you can install a new motherboard, since overclocking isn’t possible with your current setup.

I've noticed the GTX 1070 creates a bottleneck because the CPU runs at full capacity across all cores, while the GPU isn't being utilized efficiently. Your dual 8GB RAM slots could help improve performance too.

Running on single-channel RAM benefits from using a second RAM dimming unit. For a CPU upgrade, consider your country's availability and recommend options accordingly. Also, what is the H310 motherboard?

The VRM seems too weak to handle an i7 processor unless you buy one at a very low cost. If you can't find a good option, go with an i5 instead. I don’t know any Georgian suppliers, but Turkish PCPartPicker lists some solid deals for an i5-9500 or 9600. I hope the prices are similar for you.

An i7-8700 offers a solid beginning, especially if it's more affordable than the i7-9700. It's best to skip the 8400 and 9400 models since their clock speeds are quite limited.
