Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide what upgrades to make for my old PC. Current setup: AMD Radeon HD 6570 GPU, AMD FX ™ 6100 Six, 3.30 GHz CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 500W power supply, and a motherboard. I'm on a budget and considering swapping to a Ryzen 2600 CPU instead of the newer Ryzen 3600. I'm also thinking about whether to buy a cheaper CPU or a better GPU for more performance. Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated!

For a Ryzen setup, you'll need an updated motherboard and RAM. If budget allows, opt for a model in the RX 570/580 lineup and keep your CPU until you can upgrade to a B450 board, DDR4 memory, and an R5 2600/3600.

What is the overall amount you have allocated?

You're considering different options for your build. Going for 16GB of Cosair Vengeance RAM and a B450 board is solid, but you might want to think about whether spending more on the R5 3600 would be better than sticking with the 2600 and pairing it with an RX 590 or saving for the RX 580 upgrade.

My budget seems to focus on what matters most to me rather than just numbers. I was comparing the RX 590 with the R5 2600 and wondering if adjusting my spending would help me save more. I’m also thinking about what other GPUs or CPUs I could consider instead.

The 2600 is a solid CPU, but the 3600 offers a noticeable improvement. Consider your intended use too. If you're aiming for a 60Hz display at 60fps, the 2600 is the better choice. For high-performance esports gaming at 144Hz, go with the 3600.

Consider a refurbished Vega 56 (similar to a new RX 590 but roughly 25% quicker), combined with the B450 board, a 2600 GPU (about $100 cheaper than the 3600) and a 16GB T-Force DDR4-3000 RAM (offering great value).
