The greatest gains occur when memory or CPU limitations are present. In performance-intensive applications like games, where GPU usage dominates, the improvements become less noticeable. Speed increases can still help, but high-frequency challenges—such as a 4000MHz clock limiting FCLK to 2000MHz—mean you may need to reduce RAM speed or use asynchronous operation, both of which can hurt performance despite extra bandwidth. I prefer sticking with the 3600MHz option and testing if it can be overclocked. My current setup runs at 3800MHz with a 1900MHz FCLK, which is near optimal. Regarding dual-channel configurations, four sticks aren't ideal; two per channel is recommended to avoid stressing the memory controller and to maintain stable timings. Running four can strain the IMC, potentially preventing overclocking or XMP support, or even causing POST failures. Exceptions exist for certain older motherboards, but most modern systems require careful handling. The concept of dual-ranked RAM is outdated—chips are typically arranged in pairs, not individually on both sides. I know the issue. Testing at 3200mhz succeeded, but at 3600mhz it’s mostly random. It makes sense to invest in two 32GB units at that frequency.
