Upgrade your Acer M5600 to Windows 7 or 10 for better performance.
Hello! I’m wondering if it’s feasible to install Windows 7 or 10 on an Acer M5600 running Windows Vista 32-bit as the default. I attempted to boot from a USB, but the BIOS isn’t recognizing it. This is my first experience with such an old BIOS setup. The system specs are: Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, DDR2 667MHz, Intel GMA 3000. I saw drivers for Windows 7, 8, and 10 on driverescape.com for this model, so I’m hoping it’s possible to get at least Windows 7 working. Thanks!
Windows 10 feels a bit too demanding for that machine. Yet it remains the most secure option available. Windows 7 holds my preference as the classic choice for older systems.
You managed to set up Windows 10 on a prebuilt unit by using a bootable USB created with the WinUSB tool. The BIOS didn’t recognize it because it wasn’t detected automatically.
