I'm curious about upgrading the RAM on your laptop. Before you proceed, I understand it's soldered onto the motherboard. Would it be possible to have someone remove it and install a higher-capacity 16GB module? You've shared the RAM model you're interested in, along with its current specifications. If that's not feasible, I can help you find a similar Windows laptop.

Why would you even think about using a Chromebook? Those devices are essentially the worst I've ever seen. Their repair options and upgrade potential are at Apple standards, while their performance, build quality, and safety are barely decent. Unless you're comfortable with the Chromebook operating system, it's best to opt for any regular laptop instead. The solution is clear: if you can locate the exact RAM chips and the rest of the hardware matches, then yes, it might work. I plan to check the components again once I have a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Are you sure? It's a Chromebook. Chrome OS supports up to 8GB RAM. Using it in that manner makes Windows laptops a more suitable choice, especially if you need upgradable memory. Finding someone to handle this will take time—you might have to send it to a specialist. The cost of labor and shipping won't be low, at least not usually. Covering those expenses plus parts could equal the price of a similarly configured Windows upgradeable laptop.

It seems the expense might exceed what this low-quality item is worth. What’s the question? Why are we using a Chromebook? These tools are really restricted.

I’m trying to play Minecraft and run Steam games on it. Each time I do, my RAM runs out, which ruins the experience. I’ve switched back to Chrome OS before, but it still crashes or uses too much memory. Now I’m back to using Chrome and it works fine for what I need. You probably already know this—it’s a 12th generation Core I51240P with integrated graphics. It’s not top-notch, but it suits my requirements. It has a 16-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate. I’m considering upgrading to a Nitro 5 for better performance, but I don’t have the funds. It was a thoughtful gift from someone special. Edit: Chrome OS isn’t ideal because all your data is sent to Google automatically, making it very restrictive unless you enable dev mode. You can run APKs, but the system becomes unstable and often shuts down unexpectedly. The only downside is that it’s not worth the hassle. There are other OS options like Linux distributions and Ubuntu, but I’m not sure about them right now.
