Only consider the 2000 series. Do you use CPU rendering? Redshift now relies heavily on GPU power, making CPUs less essential for many jobs. Upgrading to a single-core performance would be a significant step back. A 2000 with 32 cores isn't ideal unless you're willing to pay a premium for a high-end cooler, board, and RAM. The 13900K offers a noticeable boost—about 20% faster than the 2990WX—and more than double single-core speed. On this platform, investing in the 2000 series isn't cost-effective because these boards are priced similarly to the latest generation TR4 models. In short, switching to a modern architecture would save you money and improve performance across all CPU capabilities. Even using the 2950X is more costly and doesn’t offer a strong upgrade. You could still use your ECC RAM if it’s not buffered, and with just 64GB you won’t hit the AM4 128GB limit.
