Upgrade to Windows 8.1?
Don't purchase a new GPU or hold off for Windows 10. It's only a slight improvement—about 1-2 frames per second—but you can achieve it through other methods. Upgrading to Windows 10 will cost around $30 compared to the current version.
I don’t see any need to upgrade. The Windows 8 interface feels tricky to navigate, and there’s little noticeable boost in speed. I’ll hold off on Windows 10 until then, since we’re expecting only moderate improvements with the upcoming updates like dx12 and other enhancements.
If you need a fresh look, upgrade is the way to go. Just pick something that restores the original start button feel like the classic shell. Windows 8.1 tends to auto-download many drivers and saves time during setup, making it easy to tell if the classic shell or the new install is working properly.
