Hey All, i currently have a 7th Gen i5 7400 CPU and i'd like to go to a 9th gen 9600k and new motherboard. wondering at this current time is it worth an upgrade or to wait for a new generation? i am also-running a liquid cooler 16gb ddr4 3200 ram and 1070strix if that helps. Thanks for the replies ( if any )

I haven't really explored AMD much, but are they that much better? I'm thinking about getting something like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X.

The cost is reduced for AMD, and yes, AMD performs better at the moment. The price for the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X is $225.99 on Amazon, while the Intel Core i5-9600K costs $256.65 on the same platform. For Dota 2 benchmark results, it may not appear superior, but I’m confident most others on the forum agree.

If your focus is solely on gaming and you're willing to sacrifice other applications, investing in Intel will give you the best performance.
