Hey there, I'm thinking about swapping my Ryzen 7 2700 for a Ryzen 7 5800x and wondering if moving from a B450 to a B550 motherboard makes sense. What do people think about that change? Besides the clear benefits like PCIe Gen 4, what other perks does upgrading to B550 bring? Let me know!
From what I understand b550 motherboards generally have better VRMs than b450 but that is a general trend and it would still depend on what motherboard you choose. Personally if you are going to upgrade to b550 I would make sure you buy a nice one otherwise it won't be as big of a difference. Also if you get a nice b550 board now you can always upgrade to a 5950x down the line.
