Hello, I have a few questions about upgrading my current setup. I have a Ryzen 5 2600X with an aftermarket 160W silentiumpc Fortis5 cooler and a B350M motherboard. There are two faulty RAM sticks or a dual-channel issue, but only two are showing up. I have 32GB of RAM with 3333MHz and 20CL latency, but only 16GB is usable due to the motherboard problem. I'm using a Corsair TX850 Gold power supply (white label). Should I upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D? Would it improve single-core performance over the 2600X? I also need a new motherboard for dual-channel and want to know which chipset to choose—X370 or B550. I've kept my 2600X overclocked without going beyond 66-67°C under normal use. I'm into gaming, livestreaming, 3D modeling, and video editing. My English isn't great, but I'm trying to be clear.

Your 2600X might need a newer AM4 setup, but you’ll likely still need a different motherboard. If you swap both the motherboard and CPU, consider other platforms too. What’s your budget? Where are you planning to buy? Could you share a detailed spec sheet of your current rig (case, power supply, GPU, etc.) so we understand the project better?

I’m considering a Ryzen 5 2600X with Vega 56 TX, 850m Gold PSU, and an ATX case from Eastern Europe. I’m budgeting around 150€ for the motherboard, aiming for a mid-range B550 (120-130€) or X370 (140-160€). I’m unsure which option is better and why. Also, I’m thinking about spending about 300€ on a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or whether switching to an AMD Ryzen 5 7400X would make more sense.

I’d just use AM5. A Ryzen 7600+ is affordable, but your motherboard is already damaged.

You're looking at a solid price range for AM5 components around 750€. It seems like a good balance between performance and budget. If you're considering upgrading to AM4, the 5800X3D offers similar specs at a lower cost. DDR5 RAM could save a bit, but the savings are minimal. Your location matters for finding the best deals and local availability of parts.
