Interesting, just a small chip I won't really need for anything. I think I already have some FX chips with at least a few copies. Bones @ HWBOT, you get the 63xx line. All Zambezi chips (41xx, 61xx, 81xx) have the same problems, so it might be better to go with a Vishy model.

I'm working with an FX 8350, it still functions well for handling many programs on Windows 10, which is a solid choice. It has four cores with four logic cores, so it's not an 8-core machine, but it manages multitasking nicely. I'm gradually building a new PC for better overall performance, but if budget is a concern the 8350 remains a solid CPU and only needed a new graphics card to run games at high or ultra settings on a 3440 x 1440 screen. Your 1050 Ti should still work in the new build and handle at least high settings. If you want to save up for future parts, consider investing in a few 1TB SSDs and replacing the old hard drive with an SSD for the new system. Keep it possibly as a backup drive, and plan to switch to an NVMe SSD on the new motherboard for the operating system. A 850W power supply or higher might be worth it, especially since future high-end GPUs will likely need more power. You could also explore an AI watercooler now and upgrade later, as some CPUs might not include a fan. Monitors are always a good upgrade when moving to a new PC.

The 8350 works fine, but in this situation it has a weaker 4+1 VRM configuration. I wouldn't recommend using it with this board since it's a 125W chip, even though the hardware could handle it. For reliability, I'd stick with a 95W model regardless of the board.

i don’t build new computers from scratch. when i upgrade, i see it as swapping components, not replacing them. i keep the old parts in their boxes until i’m ready to use them again. for new parts like a motherboard, cpu, or ram, i store them temporarily. i already have a clear plan for future upgrades—i know the right specs, psu, cpu, motherboard, ram, gpu, and case. i’m not sure if i’ll upgrade my fx at all, but i know what it will be after. mostly i store games and files on the hdd, use minecraft mods occasionally, and my ssd is my boot drive. i make sure there’s enough space for small updates, and even with the hdd, my games load quickly.
