I was in the same boat with DDR4. With the current price of DDR5, replacing your 64GB would cost between $500 and $600. I chose to purchase a 14700k instead of upgrading to 12700KF just to extend the build's lifespan.

Did you notice significant progress? The holidays are approaching and I don’t have much to desire, making this a straightforward choice!

I wasn’t very technical about it. I updated the BIOS to the newest version, skipped extra benchmarks, added a new drive, and swapped in Bazzite to replace Windows. I think my 12700KF was running at 5.3Ghz on the P-cores. I didn’t overclock the 14700K; it fluctuated between 5.0 and 5.1Ghz during tests, likely running faster during games. If I remember correctly, it handled two cores up to 5.6 and a maximum of 5.5 across all cores. My main focus was on the operating system and replacing the power supply. The CPU decision was mostly for convenience while I was working.
The game I’ve been playing recently loads easily on Bazzite and runs smoothly without any noticeable issues.
