So can I update straight to the F60 Bios from F6 considering that there is no warning note on that one or since there is a warning note on F40 aswell as on a couple subsequent ones do I need to follow all the steps on F40 then go to F60 or since Im upgrading from a R5 2600x to a R7 5700x3D do those steps dont apply 2 me? I also see a mention on F30 about a chipset update and on F40 an extra mention about a EC FW Update Tool to fix 4Dimm compatabilty on 3rd gen Ryzen but since im going to 5000 series do these things apply 2 me and can I skip em and jut got str8 to F60 from F6? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X47...rt-dl-bios

Neglect the chipset driver alerts while heeding the EC Firmware notifications. Updates to the EC Firmware are necessary. Proceed step by step, then apply the newest BIOS.

I owned that board and noticed most of the Bios upgrades didn’t update the embedded controller firmware—some even reduced it. I moved away from it in 2020, so I’m unsure if newer models follow the same pattern. Additionally, if I recall right, certain Bios versions were required as a prerequisite (like F32).

I usually just refresh the BIOS to the latest version. My X670 crosshair board was updated at that time, but it wouldn’t work with four 32GB RAM sticks. It only supported two. I’m not sure if the problem was with the BIOS itself.

The memory controller resides on the CPU, with different boards featuring various memory VRM designs. The method for linking RAM slots to the CPU socket differs across systems. BIOS updates may assist with memory only if the CPU maker introduced microcode changes (Intel microcode or AMD AGESA) or if the board manufacturer identified a design flaw.

an update was shared about a new BIOS version, but spending another $350 on another memory pack isn't feasible at the moment. hahaha, i'll let you know once I've tried it.
