Upgrade route for Gigabyte B450M DS3H
Hello everyone. While considering CPU/MOBO options for my new setup, I’m leaning toward the Ryzen 3200g paired with a Gigabyte b450m DS3H board, as it fits my budget. Alternatively, the 9100f with an Asus b360 Prime offers a more affordable choice. Since future upgrades are likely to be AMD-based, I’m curious about the maximum performance of the Gigabyte board. If I need another AMD board later, I might prefer the 9100f to save costs now. Thoughts? Edit: I already have a free GPU from a colleague, so that’s not a big concern.
Hey team, that's an important observation I should have noted earlier. I updated my comment to account for it, though I'm now receiving a complimentary GPU from a coworker.
I'm not sure how software uses cores (assuming multi-threaded). If it does, I don't really know. I suggest something like a 3100 when it comes out—still with four cores, they're hyper-threaded and have extra IPC. For a board with DS3H, it's a decent option at best, but not the top choice. It might work if you're using stock, but for new builds it's probably not worth considering.
