Upgrade RAM for better performance.
I reside in Israel. Tell me about the problems you experienced with your old B450M motherboard. Do you believe the B450 chipset is sufficient and free from these issues? What RAM or storage concerns do you have, and what caused them? You might consider upgrading your storage now.
It was a bit frustrating trying to upgrade everything at once. The main issue was that the system wouldn’t boot with the new GPU, showing a VGA POST error. After reinstalling the original, it worked properly. When I tried installing drivers and software for the new GPU using the old one, the problem repeated—VGA POST error again. It kept happening until the machine shut down completely, requiring an RMA from MSI that took 35 to 45 days. Once the new GPU was installed, everything functioned correctly. They never explained what caused the problem. Later, when I upgraded to the 5900X, MSI suggested a BIOS update for Zen3 support, warning it could damage my board. Probably because the board was older, but that didn’t matter to me. At that stage, I was hesitant to risk damaging a good processor over a questionable update. I had planned to reuse my case and other parts, but the case lacked enough cooling for the 5900X and the PSU wasn’t powerful enough for an RTX3000 series. That’s why I went with a fresh build instead of MSI parts.
