I recently received a new motherboard and CPU in a prebuilt package. After installing the motherboard and connecting everything, I noticed the SATA1 pins are missing and there’s no plastic cover left. When I power on the PSU, the motherboard lights up. However, when I turn on the PC, the CPU fan spins briefly, followed by a click sound, but the system doesn’t boot. After removing all cables and reconnecting them, it still won’t turn on. The PC started without the GPU but now fails to power on either with or without it. I own a 750W gold-rated EVGA PSU, a Sapphire 7800XT, and a 5600X, expecting sufficient power, but I’m confused about the issue.
Display an image of the assembled setup.
Include only essential components connected.
Components required: motherboard, cpu, cpu cooler, single ram module, graphics card, psu.
Exclude sata and m.2 drives, as well as front panel connections.
Please share a photo if available.
I constructed it outside my case with only a few components, but the fans aren't even running.
Sata connections might fail due to absent SATA port plastic. Remove the visible contact pins gently. Ensure they don’t touch each other.
