Hello everyone, good day. I'm considering increasing my PC's RAM by at least 16GB—either 32GB or 48GB. I'm unsure which would be more effective for performance, as neither setup seems optimal. Right now, I have a TForce Dark ZA with 8GB and 3600MHz CL18. I'm evaluating three choices:
Option A: add another 2x8GB at 3600MHz
Option B: add another 2x16GB at 3600MHz
Option C: some recommendations

Notes:
- I mainly need extra space since my wife runs two background instances of games and other apps, with 11GB already used.
- My goal is to support multiple Docker containers.

Do you have a current system in mind? If yes, proceed with the budget option and add another 2x8GB drive. If not, consider going up to 48GB for better performance. Both choices should work well without major compatibility problems. How much storage are you currently using?

It comes down to your choices, yet 32GB covers the needs of about 99% of users. Many continue with 16GB, but doubling it will keep you prepared for a long time.

Here’s a revised version of your setup details:

Hardware configuration: CPU model Ryzen 5 3600, Graphics card RTX 3060 with dual 12GB memory, TForce Dark ZA 2x8GB RAM at 3600mhz, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II motherboard. Appreciate the feedback from @igormp and @Catzzye.

If 32GB suffices, opt for an additional 16GB.
