HP offers a 300-watt power supply unit for the system, and with standard dimensions it should work without issues. It looks like you're referring to the Mini Tower model, not the SFF version.

Board appears quite small, almost fitting in a different case since there’s no space for a GPU. I’m just checking if the PSU is also basic and whether any PSU with 500W or more would be compatible.

The size of the PSU is what matters, not the board. As long as it fits easily, you're all set.

There are multiple variations of the 400 G3. Do you have the MT or the SFF model? The label should indicate this with the serial number. The SFF version is designed to lay flat, while the MT is a standard tower PC.
