Hello everyone, I plan to upgrade a friend's Acer Aspire 7741G this weekend. In addition to the RAM and battery, I’ll add an SSD and perform a fresh Windows 10 installation. Regarding your question: Will Windows 10 automatically install all the necessary drivers when the device connects to the internet? It’s been a while since I worked with a laptop, so I’m not sure about cloning drives. In this situation, it won’t work because the new SSD is smaller than the old HDD. Any advice would be really helpful.

Suggest installing the drivers directly or try Iobit Driver Booster.

Your system should now boot normally after the Windows installation, allowing you to use the desktop interface as expected.

It should function properly. You may face problems setting up the graphics card, as the HD 5000 line lacks suitable Windows 10 drivers—consider using a legacy driver in Win8 compatibility mode.

Avoiding pop-up threats is essential. Most third-party software can introduce more problems than it solves. After setting up a fresh clean Win10 on an old laptop, things got complicated. Some drivers didn’t install properly, and even with Lenovo’s site for downloads, I faced a few issues. One problem was the MS security settings not functioning, and another was the taskbar appearing black.

I observed this could occur during a fresh installation. The Windows update process sometimes introduces changes, causing certain components—like the start menu and taskbar—to behave unexpectedly.

I assume this is your personal opinion cause it's not based in facts. Have you used it? Or is there a study proving the newer versions of IObit Driver Booster are what you claim them to be? Plese give proof. I do recommend Driver Booster because I have positive experience with it. On tens if not hundreds of machines that passed through my hands.

I've tried it before. Observed that updates are suggested even when none exist. Using the free version has no effect. Switching to the paid version (before I asked for a refund) helped restore my system after driver issues. I have positive feedback about IObit software overall. However, their Uninstaller, Driver Booster, and Game Booster are poor quality and unlikely to improve. ASC's performance has declined significantly over the past year, so I no longer use it. Smart Defrag remains useful, but I'm considering other options to avoid paying for IObit again.

Interesting, haven't you noticed the free version isn't functioning properly and the fake updates aren't working? When I checked, I could find the drivers available as updates. Maybe you missed some places where drivers are offered? It's a rhetorical question—no need to confirm. Short version: I don't recommend it due to your experience, but I suggest it based on what I've seen. We can't argue over who has it more (your experience).
