I chose to switch to Windows 10 after 4 months and need guidance on updating chipset drivers, specifically for the LAN Ethernet card. My motherboard is an ASRock B85 Fatal1ty Killer 1. I want to ensure a smooth upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 10 without issues.

No need to install drivers beforehand; you can download them once after upgrading.

You are able to do this. Most likely, Windows will provide the necessary tools for you. If you have unique hardware, uncommon software, or very old systems, you might encounter difficulties. For instance, without Ethernet drivers (unless your system already has them), you can't access online sources to obtain them. You'll need a different machine to download and install the drivers, then transfer it to your current device for installation. However, upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 should work smoothly.
