You own a B450 Tomahawk and a 3600. You were thinking about selling the board, CPU, and RAM for around 150 euros. If the rumors hold, the 9000 series could be a huge improvement.

What are the rumors? 5800x3D is a significant improvement, 7800x3D even more so. Of course 9800x3D will bring another upgrade, but when should you decide to purchase it? With a 3600, you didn’t mention a clear budget, and if you aim to sell it for 150 euros, I doubt you’re targeting the top end of that market. Also, which GPU will you be using? It doesn’t really make sense to buy a 9800x3D with a mediocre graphics card. The performance gain won’t be substantial. For now, wait and see, as it’ll likely take a few months.

What are the rumors? 5800x3D is a significant improvement, 7800x3D even more so. Of course 9800x3D will bring another upgrade, but when should you decide to purchase it? With a 3600, you didn’t mention a clear budget, and if you aim to sell it for 150 euros, I doubt you’re targeting the top end of that market. Also, which GPU will you be using? If you're patient, keep it up. I'm hoping the 9000 series now includes better memory support, and I'd be excited to see AM5 utilizing faster memory options.

Budget sits near 500 euros, with 7600+ MBO and RAM fitting the bill. Right now I own a 6800XT. I’m hesitant about purchasing a 5800X3D because selling it could help offset some expenses.

Are your latest shows holding you back? Do you truly need a change now? Hold off if not. If you sense limitations and genuinely wish to improve... a 5800x3d offers a straightforward upgrade. You won’t have to purchase a new motherboard or RAM. Once installed, it can last a year or two before moving on to the AMD 10000 series (or whatever they refer to).
