I own a Ryzen 5 3600 and am considering switching to an ASUS ROG Strix B550-A for gaming. I’m worried about compatibility since my current B450 motherboard isn’t working even after BIOS updates, and I want to make sure it will function properly out of the box.

The B550 board would function properly. All B550 motherboards come pre-installed with Ryzen 3000 CPUs (except 3200G and 3400G).

I understand, but using "3000 series, excluding 3200G/3400G" is more precise than stating compatibility with Zen 2 and Zen 3. This avoids confusion about the relationship between a Ryzen CPU and its respective Zen generation.
