Good evening. I just got my Zotac GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity OC for my 2060 Super. I upgraded the power supply and GPU, but nothing is showing on screen. I’ve tested various ports and cables, even tried using the old 2060 Super with the new PSU. It’s working fine then. I’m puzzled—what could be wrong?
The CPU wouldn't affect the display even if the old GPU is connected. Is the fan spinning on the 3090 model? Regarding the power cables, are you using two cables from the PSU or just one with a split end?
You're connecting two cables from the power supply unit. The 6+2 pin connector is located on the PSU, while the 8-pin connector is on the GPU. It's unclear if the GPU connection affects this setup.
The 3090 requires both PCIe cables connected to the power supply and the card; sometimes only one cable is inserted into the PSU, leaving the remaining split insufficient for proper power delivery. Once confirmed everything is properly connected, try inserting the card into another computer to quickly verify if it displays correctly.
It seems the previous GPU functions properly while the new one isn't showing any output even though it's connected correctly. I think the issue lies with the GPU itself, so I'll need to return it for repair.
I faced a comparable issue with a PC that had a 3090TI. The fix involved connecting three separate PCIe power cables, since two were inadequate. I’m unsure if a 3090 also supports the same number of PCIe cables, but it might be worth trying to plug in as many as the adapter permits, based on what others have shared.
