Upgrade advice ?
I need to enhance my SFF PC so it can run modern RPGs such as Avowed, Clair Obscur, BG3, Dragon's Dogma 2, Ghost of Tsushima and similar titles at 1440p with 60fps.
My current setup is:
CPU: Ryzen 2600
RAM: 16GB
GPU: RTX 2060 Super
Case: Cooler Master NR200P Max
It already includes the PSU and AIO.
If I decide to upgrade the GPU, which model would provide the best performance? I want more than 8GB of VRAM and DLSS should be an option, making NVIDIA the top choice but leaving room for alternatives.
I’m not looking for a small improvement; I want a substantial upgrade.
I should worry about CPU bottlenecks?
If I switch to a CPU with AM4 and a 5700x3d, would that still be sufficient?
Part list includes all components already installed in the case, plus the upgrades I'm evaluating.
Now I'm facing a decision about the GPU. Here are the top prices I've discovered for these cards:
- My top pick is the RX 9070 XT, but the best price I've seen is $728 (MSRP: $600)
- Second option: RX 9070 for $677 (MSRP: $550)
- That's why when I saw the RX 7800 XT for $485 (under MSRP) I thought I had decided
- Then I found the RX 7900 GRE for $550 (exactly MSRP)
- I also came across an RTX 4070 Super for $613 (MSRP: $600)
The issue is, would it be realistic to get the 9070 XT at its MSRP? I'm struggling with analysis paralysis.
2933 MT/s is the officially recognized JEDEC speed for the Zen+. The Zen2/3 JEDEC stands at 3200 MT/s. I'm currently using a 5800X3D with 3600 MT/s RAM. The 2600 model probably won't exceed 3000 or 3200 MT/s, though that seems to be the case. Most 5000 series processors can handle over 3800 MT/s with more relaxed timings, making 3600 MT/s generally reliable.
the cpu and mobo are compatible with 3200, probably reaching 3600 if needed.
