Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad x260 with Windows 10 pre-installed. But I quickly switched to Linux Mint and removed Windows 10 because I needed Linux for my tasks. Now I’m preparing to sell my laptop and have to reinstall Windows 10 again. I have two main questions: What’s the process for reinstalling Windows 10? And how do I activate it? I’m a bit uncertain about the activation part. Thanks!

Automatically restart after setup—just confirm no key is pressed when beginning the installation. https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software.../windows10

The key is printed on a label attached to the machine's back. Ideally, have the purchaser set it up and turn it on, so the registration stays linked to them rather than you.

Those keys are usually found in digital formats, not on physical stickers.

Sadly, no. Previously it was labeled with the machine name, but now that's not done anymore.

Contact Microsoft, if you're polite they could provide you with a key. Mention that your laptop window key sticker is damaged.

I haven't considered that before. I'm sure I'll attempt it and reach out. Appreciate it.
