You can use the "Reset this PC" option in settings without needing a Windows 10 key. The issue you're facing is likely because you previously upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 using the free upgrade method, which may have left your system in a state that requires a new activation key. You don’t need to purchase a new key if you’re using the same Windows 10 version; just follow the reset process and it should restore your original setup.

Windows will revert to its original state after using the Reset feature. It will continue running Windows 10 regardless of any upgrades. No activation key is required for this process.

When the Reset option encounters an issue due to missing components, you must use a Windows 10 installation media such as an install disk or USB drive to resolve the problem.
