I own a R5 2600 currently, but if I upgraded the BIOS to support 3rd gen Ryzen CPUs, would it still work with my motherboard? Also, what happens if the system loses power during the update? Thanks.

Probable. Verify the BIOS documentation first. However, based on what I've observed so far, newer BIOS versions generally ensure compatibility for most CPUs (though some A8/A10 models may still fail due to limited flash updates). If your motherboard lacks dual BIOS support, it could cause permanent damage. It's wise to connect your PC to a UPS when using an unstable power supply, especially for BIOS upgrades.

They’re suggesting you use the exact instructions from the F40 BIOS page for the transition to F50.

This indicates that to reach F40 (or F41, F50, etc.), you must already be on F32 first. You can't jump directly from F30 to a newer version; you need to advance to F32 before proceeding. The suggested approach is to install the F50 BIOS.
