Updating files, setting up partitions, and adding several operating systems at once
Updating files, setting up partitions, and adding several operating systems at once
Hi everyone, I just acquired a new 1TB SSD for my gateway laptop. I intend to format my existing 250GB drive and use it for storage, taking advantage of two hard drive bays in the laptop. For the new drive, I want to create partitions—installing OEM Vista on one and Linux on another. Would you suggest a particular order? Should I install Linux first so it can automatically set up the partitions during installation? Then proceed with the OEM OS? Regarding a multi-boot solution, is there a built-in option in Linux, or should I consider tools like EasyBCD Creator for Windows? I’m open to any advice and would appreciate your suggestions. I plan to try PClinuxOS, Cylon, Bodhi, Elementary OS, or Manjaro. I’m thinking of splitting the 1TB drive into four partitions and installing one Windows partition plus three different Linux distributions to compare. Not sure which path to take. Thanks in advance for your help!
