Contacted MSI, they confirmed the board is faulty. Ordered replacement from Amazon.

Why not use the GUI for installation? The BIOS flash button is usually needed only when you can't open your BIOS tool. It also demands a particular USB port on the motherboard, formatting the drive to fat32 (the drive must be under 32GB), and often needs renaming the bios file before it functions. I assume you’re familiar with all this since you reached out for help, but just want to confirm your understanding.
