Updated version of Skyrim with new features and improvements.
The updated Skyrim stands alone as a distinct title, offering its own content without needing the previous version. The new release is available for free, so you can keep your old copy while downloading the separate install. It seems the original isn’t automatically upgraded—just check if it works fine on its own.
It appears as an individual application within your Steam collection.
It's because all of the additions were subtle, but I was able to notice more clutter on the road and a different lighting model. And then there's this: I don't have any stuttering on my end, but then again I have a high-end video card. Because SLI isn't a free lunch. NVIDIA needs to add a profile before it becomes properly supported. I believe AMD has the same problem with Crossfire.
It seems fine to you. The fog and lighting look much improved, along with the textures—though a better texture pack for the original Skyrim might exist. Also, 32-bit support was removed, which isn't necessarily negative; it helps take full advantage of systems with more RAM, especially when using mods. There are other updates too (rain doesn’t pass through roofs, godrays, etc.) that give it a more contemporary feel. Some special effects still feel average, a bit underwhelming. The voice acting remains largely the same for about 60% of NPCs, which becomes tiresome quickly, though I wouldn’t expect major changes. Audio quality is poor in some areas; it stands out when picking up coins. There appear to be several modifications—armor seems reequipped after Beast Form.
They seem to be attempting to repay past IRAD investments by releasing an updated version of Skyrim for Xbox One, though internally developed. Anticipating a next-gen release is unrealistic at this stage. Source: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bethesd...0-6431961/
