I’m looking for suggestions on how to improve my setup. It seems I might need updated hardware or more knowledge about what I already own. My current arrangement includes a Spectrum E31U2V1 modem paired with a Nighthawk X6S AC4000 router, a Cisco Catalyst switch, and a Netgear gateway. The modem connects directly to my PC, which then links to the Cisco device. The Netgear assigns IP addresses automatically, but I’m not sure how to set static addresses for certain devices or enable dynamic IPs for others. This inconsistency causes me to lose data—down by 100MB when using the modem versus 460/22 with the router. I’m trying to keep my 10Gb connection for Plex, the main PC, and Unraid NAS, aiming for a configuration under $500. I’d appreciate advice on optimizing this without replacing everything at once.

Connecting to a port on your router doesn't trigger the 460/22 alert.

I hadn't considered trying it before, so I just attempted it now. Turned off the fiber link, connected directly via a cat 6 cable from my PC to the router, then restarted the computer. Identical outcome.

This indicates the slowdown comes from the router or the connection link between your router and modem.
