Hello, I recently upgraded my PC from a 7900XTX to an RTX 4090 due to problems with the XTX. For a month it ran smoothly, but lately I've faced booting issues and CMOS resets. The reset helps sometimes, though it’s frustrating to repeat. I’m looking for advice on how to resolve this. Your PC specs are: Asus Rog Strix X670E-E, Ryzen 9 7950X, MSI SUPER LIQUID RTX 4090, NZXT Z73 AIO.

You're experiencing similar problems with the 4090 and x670e firmware updates, especially with the UEFI versions. I've had occasional issues with my 7950x3D build, too—something keeps the VGA POST LED active. I've been using the x670e Aorus Master without much trouble.

Power on the setup (BIOS) if overclocking restored it to standard speed, or choose the default BIOS settings. Typically done by pressing F5 in the BIOS. You may also erase the CMOS and then adjust the time and date through the BIOS settings.

I've got the newest firmware for my motherboard, but I'm missing the latest beta version.

The CMOS serves as a short-term solution.

I've faced the same problem before; usually I just perform a dry boot (disconnect power, then turn it on). Honestly, it could be just a minor issue with the Ryzen 7000 series and RTX 4000. It was quite problematic during the first two weeks after upgrading from a 5800x3D to a 7950x3D, but that's resolved now. (Except for the occasional VGA POST LED issue.) You might try forcing the PCIE configuration to 4.0 instead of letting it auto-set. I adjusted several settings between then and now, so it could be related to that.

I won't change anything. I stick with the EZ flash, it keeps the same version.

It seems there might be an issue with the motherboard, but it’s not too severe to completely erase it. I’d recommend replacing it if needed.
