I replaced my Z270 motherboard with a 10700K and an MSI Z490 MPG Gaming Plus card. After installation, I encountered a BIOS loop where the system wouldn’t boot but would jump straight to BIOS. Eventually, switching from UEFI to CSM resolved the issue. A quick search suggested that using MBR-formatted SSDs won’t work with UEFI, which might affect compatibility. Reformatting the SSD to GPT and reinstalling Windows isn’t feasible for me. I’m wondering if this setup could impact performance or stability.

This indicates your original Windows setup was created using CSM. Simply keep CSM active and continue. The only option to enable UEFI and Secure Boot is to reinstall Windows in UEFI mode.

You might be able to convert the SSD to GPT using the tools you already have, but ensure it’s done safely to avoid data loss or boot problems.

Switching the drive partition setup is very dangerous. Make sure to save all your information first. Even though you can adjust the formatting to GPT, Windows remains installed as if it were using CSM. I doubt UEFI will start properly afterward.
