I'm trying to decide between two processors for a gaming setup. The 3300X is more expensive but offers better performance due to its higher IPC and clock speeds. It was also cheaper when I planned to buy it. Recently, the shipping date for the 3300X was delayed to the 16th, and it will likely take a long time. On Amazon, the 1600AF is now $104, which is cheaper than the 3300X. I need to weigh the pros and cons before making a choice. The 3300X suits my needs better for its speed, but the 1600AF offers more value at a lower cost. What do you think?

They’re very similar, but the 3300x offers superior IPC and IMC along with a faster clock if you’re focused on performance. The 1600af is still attractive at $104, but the 3300x seems more compelling overall.

How tidy are they with their system? If they will have lots of background stuff, leaving chrome open, listening to music, discord.. Folding(you really should be folding people) Then I'd say the higher thread count of the 1600af is better, BUT, if they will run games with only windows and maybe music in the background then I'd say the 3300X is the better buy here IMO.

Both options are good, but the 1600AF stands out at $100. It offers strong performance and is worth considering.

I'll purchase the 1600af once I receive my refund from canceling my B&H order.
