Updated M.2 SSD and RAM Safe Mode Only Boot Feature Added
I'm experiencing several problems and my recent fixes seem to have caused more damage. Here are the key details:
- Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case - Black
- Lian Li Galahad 360mm RGB Water Cooling Kit - Black
- ASUS VG27AQL1A 27" 2K QHD Monitor (Platinum)
- MSI MPG A1000G Power Supply - 1000W, 80 Plus Gold, ATX, Modular
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X Processor
- ASRock AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX with Triple Fan
- ASUS B650E-F ROG STRIX Gaming Motherboard
System behavior: After installing new RAM and SSD, the machine would power down, shut off all peripherals, and restart after a few seconds. Initially, I suspected RAM issues, so I replaced it and added a new SSD. However, even with the updated components, the system would fail to boot normally, enter safe mode, and then attempt to start again. Formatting the SSD didn't resolve the problem. Attempting to reinstall old RAM also led to the same failure.
Need advice or solutions to get this working smoothly again.
DDR5 typically requires only two connected sticks and XMP support, though some setups work fine. I’d change one stick at a time. The shutdown after powering on seems like a RAM test. Take out the M.2 drives and try using one of the new RAM modules instead. First step is to install the BIOS and get a proper post in place. Then you can add the drives, possibly needing to lower the RAM speed for stability.
