when i begin my computer and immediately jump into csgo, i see about 280 average fps—which is solid. but if i switch to using my pc (like facebook) and then start csgo later, the fps drops to around 120 ;-; it’s strange what might be causing this. should i reinstall windows? i’m not sure what to do.

Did you reinstall the operating system while keeping my apps, data, and files?
Your game, upon installation, created a configuration profile tailored for specific hardware.
Completely reinstall the OS (by removing all partitions, which will perform a quick format), along with the latest GPU and chipset drivers, and the underperforming games you mentioned...

What is the SSD capacity for the operating system? CPU and GPU temperatures as well as usage while playing? RAM consumption?

ssd yes (33.9 gb free from 110)
gpu cpu temps are normal
ram usage is normal too. checked everything.
someone suggested updating the bios, not sure how to do it. is it safe? i’m currently using a biostar h310mhp.
