Hi all,
My previous configuration—FX-8320 with 970A-G43—was overheating due to VRM issues and a subpar motherboard. I upgraded to an i5-7600k, Z270-A Prime, and Cooler Master Hyper EVO 212 (GTX 1060 3GB, 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz).
I reviewed many videos and discussions, and this setup looks reasonable for me since I can still overclock slightly and it’s a solid improvement.

However, the next step was learning from my first build experience: I applied too much thermal paste to the i5, which caused spills near the CPU. The temperatures were around 55°C, but I didn’t spill anything onto the motherboard or under the CPU. After cleaning and applying a thinner paste, everything worked well again.

Idling temps are now between 40-50°C. Still, I’m concerned because running PUBG or a stress test pushes temperatures up to about 75°C. I haven’t overclocked yet, but I’m cautious not to exceed 75°C.

Are these temperatures normal? Can I even try overclocking? I saw many people say that pushing the i5 to its max (4.6GHz or more) wouldn’t cause issues with this fan. Still, I prefer not to go over 75°C.
What should I do?
