Hey there, I see you're trying to optimize your gaming experience. After moving BF4 to your SSD, you've got a good amount of free space now. The issue you're facing with the installation warning seems to be due to the drive showing insufficient space, even though the game is already there. It might help to verify the actual available space or check if there are any system restrictions preventing the install. You could also try adjusting the installation path settings in Origin or clearing its cache to see if that resolves the problem. Let me know what you try!

Transferring the original game folder to the BF4 folder? Make sure the folders were configured correctly.

It's different from Steam where you simply drag and drop the game. Origin needs to believe it's about to download again, but then confirms it's already present. My situation is that it doesn't recognize the game as installed because it's stuck at 'insufficient space'. I'm attempting to remove certain CAD programs and other files to create enough room for it to install properly.

That's because the origin still requires you to keep a significant amount of room for updates.

It's unclear if it's still true, but previously you needed to begin the installation before moving your backed-up files back, then close Origin, transfer the files, and finally open Origin again.

Start the installation first, then replace the new BF4 folder with the updated one. This avoids the same problem before.

I found a solution by removing some of my CAD files (though I can retrieve them later) and transferring my BF3 setup to an HDD. This created enough space for Origin to install BF4 without needing a full redownload. I planned to move BF3 to the HDD as well, and it all came together. Thanks for your assistance!

I understand, I handled it before myself. That's why I advised you to verify if the origin can actually view it or if it's in the incorrect directory. Another method could involve using hardlinks.

You might have messed up the sequence. Start by moving files, then switch folders, repair the install (redownloads verify the folder), and finally return to the original location. It helped me.

It’s actually straightforward to get it running. Make sure BF4 is installed on your HDD (or another location besides the new SSD). Ensure you have at least 50-60GB of free space on your SSD. Proceed carefully: first, access the origin settings (app options). Then, in the advanced section, adjust the downloads directory to point to your SSD. Avoid the one labeled “installation files directory”—save it elsewhere with ample space, like your HDD. Next, the games you’ve already downloaded remain unaffected and will function properly. Begin the download process. Pause once you reach a few megabytes or around 1-2%. Close the origin interface completely. Navigate to the SSD folder where Origin started the download for Battlefield 4. Remove that folder. Transfer your game from the HDD to the SSD location you set. Finally, launch Origin again or start the game; this should initiate the installation without needing to redownload the entire title. If you have DLCs, you may need to adjust your registry settings to support them. This method has been verified by me and works consistently.
