Hi, you're using the MSI Z170A Krait Gaming with an i3 6100. I heard MSI has released a new beta BIOS for the Z170 board that supports OC on non-K CPU. After downloading the e7984IMS.B5T, what should you do next?

The downloaded file contains only the BIOS file, not the flash utility.

Place your Ixx BIOS file in the root folder of a USB drive. Activate BIOS by pressing DEL and selecting M-Flash. The rest should be clear as shown. This method worked for the Z170I using the same chipset.

The flash utility should already be present on your motherboard. You can transfer the archive onto a USB drive and start the utility via BIOS, choosing the USB file. If your board lacks this tool, you'll need to obtain suitable flashing software from the manufacturer and install it through your operating system. Refer to the official website and user guide for detailed steps.

There aren't any reliable bios flashers available for DOS.

Format your hard drive to fat32, insert the BIOS USB, restart and boot from it. Use the built-in flash tool on the board. Avoid Windows for BIOS updates—Windows crashes can lead to serious issues.

It appears to be an A40 file. I wouldn't suggest using BIOS updates from third parties, since it seems the motherboard likely uses a single BIOS configuration.

I included the .b5t file, but the flash utility can't locate it.
