So I have this Dell laptop (the Dell Vostro 3405) and the BIOS interface looks really outdated and probably is, it says it's the 'InsydeH20 setup utility'. Is there a way to change this for a more not so outdated looking interface that doesn't have so limited options like this one? even the 2011 Dell Precision m6600 laptop I had before had a less outdated looking BIOS than this one. I don't know if you can update the firmware or something somewhere to solve this, or if its just not possible, hope you guys can help me figure this out, thank you in advance. I post this in troubleshooting cuz I'm not sure if there is any more appropiate channel.
The interface design wouldn't be very flexible for you to modify. You'd have to write and assemble special BIOS firmware for a particular computer or UEFI chip, which carries real dangers if done improperly. Also, improving the appearance would probably demand more room in the existing BIOS, and it seems there isn't much extra space for graphics or new interfaces. Nevertheless, an updated BIOS is now available for your device starting 1 September 2023 (see link below). I'd consider updating it to check if it meets your preferences.
