Update your BIOS settings for optimal performance.
Hello everyone, I'm just starting out with computers and built a powerful PC by following a ROG build guide. Recently, I've been experiencing issues where my PC freezes after a few weeks of use. It won't respond to alt-tab or perform any tasks until it crashes and goes black. I need to restart it manually. My system specs are: Asus ROG X570-E Ryzen 7X3700 with 16GB RAM (Corsair Platinum DDR4). I'm currently using BIOS 0408, and I've been looking into whether an update is necessary. Should I upgrade to a specific BIOS version? Is it better to update one at a time or can I install the latest BIOS all at once? Thank you for your help!
I own the same MOBO, but the version you’re using is quite outdated. I faced issues with that one before. Just install the newest release. As of now, the latest is 1408. I updated it today and everything functions properly—no need to upgrade gradually. Suggest using an easy flash method, such as a USB stick inserted into the BIOS. If you have an Ethernet connection, it also supports online flashing, but the traditional USB approach works just fine. Feel free to ask about any questions or let me know how it goes in your BIOS.
