Hello, Your sister's laptop stopped working after a power loss during an update. The repair options didn’t help, and commands like sfc /scannow, DISM.exe, CHKDSK /R and /F didn’t fix the issue. When using CHKDSK, it couldn’t write to the drive, so you removed the disk, reinstalled it on another desktop, and cleared its attributes. After reinserting the drive, writing still failed. I’m struggling and would love advice if anyone has solutions. Thanks.

Check if there are remaining partitions on the device. If none exist, you may have to reinstall Windows there—this tool can generate partitions automatically. You’ll need to know how you removed or cleared those partitions.
