Update the Windows product key.

Hey there, I need to set up a fresh Windows 10 Pro installation on my MSI GE63 laptop. I used the Windows Media Creation Tool, but when installing, the product key screen disappears and only the Windows 10 Home appears. I suspect my laptop already had a pre-installed Windows 10 Home on its motherboard. Also, I have a Volume License Key from an online source. Can I get a consumer key instead?

you'd prefer the PRO version because the Home edition covers most users, but a clean install of Windows 10 home will prompt for a home key.

No, you cannot directly download the Windows 10 Pro .ISO from Microsoft. They typically provide downloads through their official website or authorized partners.

It doesn't request anything like that. It simply sets up Windows 10 Home by default.

You're suggesting using an ISO file directly rather than generating a USB drive via the Windows Media Creation Tool.

Almost accurate. The issue lies in the bios setting. Whether you use ISO or an existing USB key, having the correct Windows version and a BIOS key prevents the screen from showing a product key request. Good luck!
