Consider using the native X2 transceiver. Check out this link: https://www.fs.com/c/10g-xfp-x2-xenpak-114
completed the commands/saved for 'no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid' and 'service unsupported-transceiver' still showing this issue. Please set auto negotiation on the UDM side. EDIT: checking online forums suggests I might need to upgrade the switch's IOS, which is a paid service now. Also, it seems the product has gone sunset, so I doubt they have the latest IOS available. EDIT THE EDIT: my switch model is 12.2(55)SE7, higher than the required 12.2(35)SE2, but it works despite issues. It recognizes the device but can't process it for some reason. The error message says '%PLATFORM-6-MODULE_INSERTED: TenGig Converter module inserted in slot 2 in switch 1'. After reviewing multiple spec sheets, compatibility with this switch appears confirmed. Using a Ubiquiti DAC cable might help.
You seem unsure about what’s going on. Could the cable be the issue? I’ve heard Cisco tends to be strict about using their products, and that undocumented transceiver command you mentioned is a common guess. Still, thanks for your support so far—it really means a lot! And I’m glad you’re helping too!
It's understandable to feel confused when working with Cisco equipment and third-party optics; the commands often work well in practice.
