I've been attempting to update my "user" name in the command prompt, but it still shows the same name. I'm only hoping to modify the label at C:\Users\.

The identifier appears to reflect your standard Windows username stored in the system path.

You can transfer all details to the new account, but it seems the process is linked to the previous one.

I mean specific items like software, documents, or data files. Let me know what you're referring to so I can clarify further.

Directory is formed when adding a new account. Update your username separately; the folder name shouldn't be altered as it may become overly complicated. Microsoft permits only changing the displayed name, while permissions can still reference a new user name—this is essentially an alias, not the actual system name. Yes, you can move many files such as savegames, private documents, and program configurations, but certain restrictions apply. The user directory also includes parts of the registry, which you cannot duplicate. There are likely additional constraints. You may delete all existing files you wish, then replace specific ones (like program configuration files) while leaving others intact.
