Unreal, my BIOS is from 2013—could be just for apps.

We install numerous Lenovo laptops and workstations using the Lenovo System Update in our operations. This process also provides BIOS upgrades.

The model listed is F1KT54AUS from 2013, while the site shows F1KT74A from 2018?

If Rufus isn't working, you'll have to try another method. Alternatively, you can burn the ISO to a CD or DVD and use it instead. Ventoy, BalenaEtcher, and Unetbootin are tools I'm familiar with.

It seems the system identifies the file as non-bootable. You can continue using balenaEtcher, though it’s not ideal. Since you don’t have a CD reader, you’ll need to rely on other methods to transfer or install the image.

You might want to consider this approach. I worry you could face the same situation as me—having to retrieve an old laptop with a CD drive, burn the CD, and then link an older SATA CD drive from another machine to the system board.

Yes, if the BIOS can't boot from the ISO, it will switch to Windows. Flashing a non-bootable ISO might risk damaging the BIOS settings.

I attempted it. I made USB the first boot option and Windows the second. It started with Windows.

I attempted to launch it using UltraISO, but the directory shows no files despite the ISO indicating 24MB. After trying Internet Explorer, I found a compatible version in the downloads folder. The file appears to be bootable in Etcher. Consider proceeding if you're certain.
