Check for updates on Security patches for Windows 8.1 targeting x64 systems (KB2982791) and Windows 8.1 for x64 systems (KB2975719). Microsoft advised uninstalling them. There may have been issues between August and September. Share any relevant links if you find them.

In March my computer faced issues and contained damaged files in my system, forcing me to perform a fresh installation to resolve the problem.
