Hello, my friend is attempting to upgrade to Windows 10 but is trying to force install. He still has a genuine Windows 8.1 and I’m helping him through the process I used before. The article he referenced suggests deleting certain folders, but most were removed except one named "6c09049fdfd3948c9b17592d3f9e8cd6." The system reports it’s open somewhere, preventing deletion. If a different method was used during the forced install, could you share details? Otherwise, let me know how I can assist further.
Power off the machine and erase it immediately (before updates begin)
Forcing is not advised as it leads to many problems due to growing impatience. Microsoft is checking various build settings and driver compatibility, which is slow, so not everyone has been updated yet. If you prefer not to wait, try the official tool here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 To obtain a Windows 10 Installer Boot USB. You'll require a spare USB drive (minimum 4GB).
