I made a small mistake upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. My motherboard has a BIOS flashback feature and I used a BIOS from around February this year. After installing the new parts and turning on the PC, the CPU debug light lit up immediately—telling me the issue was in the BIOS. I downloaded a tutorial video, used a USB stick formatted as FAT 32, and followed the instructions. The video warned that the process should be done with the board bare, but I proceeded anyway. Now my PC is flashing RGB colors, showing a blinking red BIOS light and a static red CPU debug LED. I’m really nervous about turning off the power supply or removing the USB drive. By the time I posted, it’s been flashing for about 20 minutes. Please help me with VID_20221213_200205.mp4.
The USB is a specific type and size, typically a standard USB 3.0 port.
SB TYPE A 3.0 Specification. I managed to uninstall the PSU and remove the CPU, then restarted it—good luck!
Occasionally it fails when the USB exceeds its capacity or when the version is 3.0; sometimes a BIOS update to 2.0 or a reduced USB size resolves the issue. If you've already updated, just observe whether it functions this time.
It halted blinking after two minutes, so I'm going to reinstall the CPU and check if it functions properly.
